Beet root and Carrot juice with Thai Basil Seeds

This red juice is loaded with lot of vitamins and minerals. It not only detoxify your body but also helps in controlling weight and has many nutritional benefits.Superb energetic tonic after a workout.It contains only few ingredients but tastes awesome.
Beetroot juice

Ingredients:
4 medium carrots
1 small beetroot
2 stalk celery
1 tsp thai basil seeds
1/2 tsp lemon juice

Method:
Soak thai basil seeds for 15mins in half cup of water. The seeds will be double in size.Drain the water. If you want you can water also in juice.
Make juice either using juice blender or juicer.Add the basil seeds and lemon juice.Serve with/without crushed ice immediately.

Fresh Mint Lemonade

Summer is here. And we need to keep ourselves hydrated all the time. How about a twist on our good old lemonade? A very simple addition which is very refreshing and yummy too.

Ingredients:

3 cups Water
1/4 warm water
1/2 cup fresh lemon juice
1/2 cup honey(can substitute with sugar)
1- 1 1/2 tsp Pink himalayan salt( accordingly your taste)
20-25 mint leaves
1/2 inch fresh ginger

Method:

In a pot add warm water and honey and stir till honey dissolves. Crush mint leaves and ginger in a mortar to a fine paste with pestle.
Then in a serving pitcher add all the ingredients and stir well to incorporate everything.

Serve with crushed ice.

Aam Panna-Raw Mango Juice

 

Summer is here!

Aam Panna/ Raw Mango Juice is a very popular drink in India during summer. It is a great summer cooler to beat the scorching heat. It also has a beneficial remedy in dehydration and heat stroke. I remember when I was a kid and used to come from school on a sunny afternoon, my mother used to give me this flavorful juice. This is my mom’s recipe, but I made it in an easy way.

Ingredients:

1 large Green Raw Mango

1/3 cup Sugar (you will need more sugar if the mango is too sour, it also depends how tangy you would like it)

salt to taste

2 cups Water

2 tsp lemon juice (if the mango is not sour)

Method:

Peel the mango. De-seed and cut it into pieces.

In a pot, add water and mango pieces. Put it on the stove to boil.

Boil it for 15-20 mins, it is done when it pierces easily. Switch off the gas. Let it cool down.

Add sugar, salt, and the boiled mango pieces along with the water and blend.

If the mixture is too thick you can add 1/4 cup water. It should not be too watery.

Adjust the sugar and salt according to your taste. If it is not too tangy you can add lemon juice too. The juice should tastes sweet and tangy. 🙂

Chill before serving. Enjoy.

Power Packed Orange Juice with Chia Seeds

If you are into juicing then this recipe is just for you. Very simple, healthy and refreshing.

Ingredients:

Two medium Oranges

1 tsp Chia seeds

1 medium Apple

Method:

Soak Chia seeds in 6 oz water for 30 mins. Seeds will swell and almost double in size. Drain water.

Make juice from fruits and mix the swollen seeds. Pour into glass and serve.
